The World Health Organization (WHO) on Sunday confirmed the existence of coordination to secure the detection of the corona virus in Egypt, as part of its daily follow-up to the spread of the virus.
At a press conference in Cairo, representatives of the WHO Regional Office said that most countries would be equipped to detect the virus during the week.
Representatives of the International Organization added that in the region and the world, specialized laboratories are in place to identify the virus and infected cases, and stressed that they are monitoring and developing the virus on a daily basis.
According to Sky News, informed sources at EgyptAir said that a private plane was to be sent on Sunday morning to return the Egyptians at the epicenter of the virus in the Chinese city of Wuhan.
The sources said that the plane carrying an integrated medical team, selected by the Egyptian Ministry of Health, will be waiting for them when returning to Cairo, the team of the quarantine office at Cairo International Airport.
Some 24 countries have reported confirmed cases of the virus, but the vast majority of infected people are still in China.
Nearly 10,000 flights have been canceled since the virus spread in China, according to travel data analysis firm Serim.
Many countries have allocated private flights to deport their citizens from China.
Cities across China continue to implement special measures aimed at curbing the spread of the virus. The northern Chinese city of Tianjin, home to some 15 million people, announced the suspension of study and work until further notice.
Chinese authorities revealed Sunday that the number of confirmed deaths in the country from the new coronavirus has risen to 304 after the deadly respiratory virus in the past 24 hours killed an additional 45 people, all in Hubei Province, the epicenter of the epidemic in the center of the country.
According to the National Health Commission, the past 24 hours have also recorded 2,590 new infections with the deadly respiratory virus, including 1,921 in Hubei province, bringing the total number of people with CORONA nationwide to more than 14,000, AFP reported.
The World Health Organization (WHO) declared a state of health emergency last Thursday due to the virus, but opposed travel or trade restrictions with China, and expressed confidence in China’s ability to contain it.
