The new CORONA virus continues to claim more infections around the world.
In a new toll, the number of infections in China, where the epidemic first appeared, reached 80,778 on Wednesday, after 24 new cases were recorded.
In Italy, the country’s civil protection authorities said the number of infections exceeded 10,000, the second most infected country after China, and the number of deaths from the virus rose to 631.
Iran on Wednesday confirmed 63 more deaths from the new coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the highest daily toll since the authorities first reported the virus.
“Based on the results of new laboratory tests, we have detected 958 new cases of Cofed-19, bringing the total toll to 9,000,” Ministry of Health spokesman Kianosh Jahanpur said at a televised press conference. “Unfortunately, in the last 24 hours, we have received reports of 63 deaths and a total of 354 deaths,” he said.

In Bahrain, the Ministry of Health on Wednesday reported 77 new cases, bringing the number of injured to 198.
On Wednesday, the Moroccan Ministry of Health also reported two new cases of the country’s new coronavirus.
In the UAE, the UAE Ministry of Health announced the recovery of 5 cases of MERS-CoV after detecting 15 new cases of different nationalities, bringing the number of cases to 74, of which 12 have been cured.
The Egyptian Ministry of Health also announced the registration of a new infection with the coronavirus, bringing the number of infections to 60, and the number of cases that have been analyzed has increased from positive to negative to 27.
The number of people infected with MERS-CoV in Lebanon rose to 60 after laboratory tests confirmed that additional numbers had contracted the virus in the past few hours, amid an announcement of a recovery.
The number in Tunisia also increased to 7 after a new case was recorded.
The number of casualties in Iraqi Kurdistan rose to 17.
Also, the Iraqi Ministry of Health said 71 people have been infected with the virus, 7 of them have died in the past few days, and nearly 10 have recovered.
